Timeline/Working on A Zoo Story
Myself and other classmates decided to hot seat in our characters, we felt this would be a good opportunity to get a deeper understanding of the role and the person we wish to play them as, bringing a further sense of realism to the character.
Had a lesson where we focused on referencing and correct structure of writing.
Rehearsed outside multiple times in various public parks, sometimes receiving positive feedback which we incorporated into the show and made it better.
Upon reading the whole script multiple times, my partner and i decided that there we sections of one of us talking for far too long that we felt would get boring for the audience rather quickly, so we cut it in a way that when skipped it still flows consistently and to the audience it is as if its how it supposed to be, for example these 3 pages of text where it is just one of us speaking.
During rehearsals both my partner and I decided to be off script as soon as possible so that we could work consistently on the production without being stuck on something like not knowing our lines which would definitely disrupt poor ability to work on other parts of the show.
Rehearsing in the theatre with benches, costumes, props and tech for the first time, a day before our show.
